Sigurður Ingi Jóhannsson, the Minister of Infrastructure, took the first shovelful of work on the new Ölfusárbrú on 20 November last.
The works are part of the Ring Road around Ölfusá project, which consists of moving the Ring Road outside the urban areas of Selfoss.
It is expected that traffic will be allowed on the new bridge in the fall of 2028. See news on Vísi here
